Restoration work rarely happens in an empty shell. You’re often lifting tired finishes off original boards or parquet in a lived-in home, sometimes one that’s just been redecorated, with fresh paint on the skirtings, new plaster on the walls and wallpaper the client has spent good money on.
The floor is your job, but the client judges the whole room. A strip of standard tape that pulls paint off a skirting board can undo a day’s careful sanding, gap filling and finishing in a few seconds. FrogTape Delicate Surface is made for surfaces like these. The low tack adhesive holds where you need it and comes away without taking the decorating with it.
How restorers use it
Before you start – tape along skirtings, door frames and wall edges at the prep stage. It can be applied up to 60 days in advance, so masking up early on a longer restoration won’t mean redoing it.
While you work – keeps a clean, sharp line along the edges, protecting painted and papered surfaces through the job.
At handover – peels off without lifting fresh paint, coated wallpaper or new plaster, so the client sees a restored floor and an untouched room.

Tips from the trade
Press the tape down firmly along the edge for a clean line. On unusual or heritage wall finishes, test a small piece somewhere out of sight first. Lift the tape promptly once you’re done rather than leaving it on longer than needed, as that gives the cleanest result and the least risk to the surface underneath.
