Ultimate Floor Care Volunteers at Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey

At Ultimate Floor Care, we are all about helping the local community where we can. A big advocate of this is our Technical Director, Terry Guilford, who has been volunteering at the local farmland museum twice a week. Terry helps with general repairs and maintenance around the site, with the support of Pallmann who sponsor Terry and offer branded workwear to help get the job done.

Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey is located on the A10 in Waterbeach, Cambridge. Look out for the sign on the A10 when you're passing! The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey is a day out for all the family. The independent museum tells a story of 850 years in farming and life in the Cambridgeshire Fens, with hands-on and interactive exhibits. In addition to being the location of Denny Abbey, it is the beautiful, former Benedictine Monastery which they manage on behalf of English Heritage.

Denny was home to Benedictine monks for ten years, from 1159 until it was handed over to the Knights Templars. This mysterious religious order was known as the ‘fighting monks’ because of their commitment to protecting pilgrims to the Holy Lane. By 1308, the Templars had fallen out of favour with the king and they were arrested, taken to Cambridge Castle and then to the Tower of London and ‘encouraged’ to give up their vows.

Ultimate Floor Care are proud to support this wonderful Museum and Abbey, keeping the place well maintained so that it can continue to educate and entertain visitors for another 850 years!
