Craig catches the running bug and raises money for charity!

We're proud to support Craig, long-lasting floor sanding contractor our customer Art of Clean. Craig is passionate about wooden floors gives everything he does 100%. Including, the running he has recently completed all in aid of charity.

When Pallmann wanted to do something for charity, they organised a run, cycle or walk event offering to sponsor £1 for every kilometre completed, to the Uzin Utz UK charity fund. Craig decided he wanted to get involved and so completed 6km over four days.

But this was just the start of Craig's journey! Craig got increasingly involved in running and shortly after, he swiftly moved up to the Sixfold 10k dash in Duxford.

Since then the running bug has truly caught him, entering any competitions the could, training at least every other day and investing in running gear. He managed to complete his first 10k in an impressive 44 minutes. 

This then escalated to him competing the London Landmarks Half Marathon (21km) that he finished in only 1 hour 41 minutes. After he achieved this, it was time to go for the big one - the full London Marathon.

The run was completed virtually, due to covid restrictions, with runners receiving a tracker to track their movement, location and time. Craig practised around his village during training and worked out a route of 4k. He would have to be complete this 11 times on the day! He finished the run in 4 hours 30 minutes.

And a special thanks to Craig for being a true gem throughout all these gruelling runs. All the events before and including the full marathon were for a charity called Tommy's, that is dedicated to finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as providing support before, during and after pregnancy. Great work Craig, the Ultimate Floor Care team are so proud!
