- First Coat Without Colour
- Apply one coat of either Tover Home Maxi lacquer or Tover Idrolak DR97 lacquer without any Colour Plus.
- Follow standard application directions, including recommended drying times.
- Once it dries, lightly abrade the surface (as per the manufacturer’s guidelines) to promote good adhesion for the subsequent layer.
- Second Coat With Colour
- Mix the recommended amount of Colour Plus additive thoroughly into the same lacquer (Home Maxi or Idrolak DR97).
- Avoid exceeding the mixing ratio provided in the instructions. If you want a more understated look, use less additive.
- Apply this second coat, maintaining a wet edge to prevent lap marks and ensuring even coverage.
By separating a clear base coat from the colour-infused coat, you’ll achieve better adhesion, a uniform colour, and an overall smoother finish. Otherwise it does have the tendency to look milky or hazy.
